Adulting Is Sucking The Fun Out Of Life

I fell for the scam too

Adults act like they’ve got everything figured out.

Don’t be fooled, we’re all just winging it.

When I was a kid, I would often hear myself swear that my father was the most powerful being in the world.

I would announce to the other kids that he could disarm and beat up cops if he wanted to. My father was tough like that, he was superman.

Then I grew up and realized Dad was still learning how to keep his emotions together when his buttons got pushed by Mom.

I also realized that Dad did not have that unlimited stash of money I always thought he did.

My tiny brain had tricked me to believing he was all there was to be, and that he had all his shit together, and that includes financially.

Growing up, even though we didn’t have all the super cool stuffs that the other households did, I didn’t think it was because we didn’t have the means. I always assumed we simply ‘rolled’ differently.

And then it happened.

I got enrolled into the system.

I was made to understand that the system would help me get my shit together like adults.
